Just a couple of weeks after the toy industry promised that this would be the safest holiday season EVER we have yet another recall of a product produced in China!!
AND THIS ONE REALLY TAKES THE CAKE!!!
This time it is a product for children, which if swallowed, metabolizes into the equivalent of GHB "the date rape" drug.
This product when swallowed can cause vomiting, convulsions,
loss of consciousness, seizures, respiratoy distress, coma,
and even death.
It seems that the Chinese factory making these things substituted a toxic chemical for a safe glue.
The "toy" is called AQUA DOTS
and the basic component is small beads. Using a smart-looking applicator, kids arrange the beads on a grid in little crafty patterns.
Then you spray the beads with water and, voilà, they fuse together.
"Aqua Dots" which have been heavily promoted since April and are already on Walmarts top selling toy list here in the US, were also named the top selling toy of the year in Australia.
Now however this "toy" has put at least 2 children in the hospital,
in critcal condition, in Australia where this health hazard was first discovered.
4.2 million Aqua Dots are being recalled at this time in the U.S.
SO MERRY FUCKING CHRISTMAS FOLKS!!!!!!!

Blogs that suck, are blogs allowing personal info to be posted, making fun of dead peoples relatives..on..and..on..and..on,and blogs that bash people soley on the purpose of their race. A blog that people go to just to be down right ugly sucks!! You can usually find me in room 1, not alot of chat drama there, though sometimes I like to go to room 2 where the ladies are usually quite nice. Yeah I admit drama usually sucks people in. Take your post today, serves a purpose to warn people about the toy that I had only heard of 30 min before reading your blog. Sad. I also heard there are children in the USA in comas from this toy.

Tommy and Lily now have at least 4 blogs between them. These are the same people who got Pat's blog shut down by crying to Google several times. Perhaps they need to be shown the same respect.
I can just see it now teenage boys raiding their little sisters toy boxes so they can give their girlfriends a little something to get them in the mood or should I say something to prevent them from saying no lol

I have 3 kids ages 3 - 5 - 8 and I seriously do not know how we will do christmas this year.
It makes me sick to think that I could kill my kids by buying them a toy. it also makes me so mad to know that my money will be going to people who gave these jobs away to china just so we could be in this situation now.

It is shameful that it has come to this point, where parents are literally afraid to buy toys for their children, and where buying food for your family could result in a trip to the hospital, or worse the morgue.
The United States government is responsible for this situation and they need to be held accountable for the status quo we now find ourselves in.
Until recently I had been a life long member of the Republican party, as have my parents and grandparents before me, but this year I signed up as an Independent because I am livid about the condition of our nation which has been created by both Republicans and Democrats.

Some of these problems have been building for decades.

I have been a registered Independent since the first time I voted after turning 18.
I just wish there was an independent candidate to vote for.
But a 3rd party candidate is almost an impossibilty due to the fact that they can't get on the ballot and they are excluded from the debates, etc.....all of these things decided by the dems and repubs.
But I feel the tide finally turning and our day is coming!!!!

Loki you stated your case well in the blame game and absolutley correct. It's not just Bush's fault and liked how you said it's our fault too. We the people can do something. Simply by boycotting toys or any items from china. And demend to our public officals whom we elected...to do something in regard to this matter. I really liked what sick and tired of china had to say too. Well done both of you. We the people need to take OUR government back and demend how WE want to be represented. If we continue on this path we current follow. Then we will see more damage. As of present date there are now 9 kids who are hospitalize and 3 or 4 are in critical condition. How on earth could we allow this to happen to our young kids is beyond me. It's disgusting that nothing is being done about this. Just a recall and that is it. Why isn't our government demending an investigation on this matter. Or advised china to stick to our standards or else we will not permit any american companies to manufacture there. I am sure american companies can find cheap labor in another country...like india or in south america somewhere. And at the sametime, these companies are held accountable via investigations, possibly arrest and indictments and serious fines which is in double digit millions as the minimum when this happens. I am sure they would straighten up pretty fast. Now add these things I mentioned above with strong government oversite and inspections and the problem will be resolved. As a mother, I have no problem paying more for any toy(s) if I am assured 100% they're safe to be used. And sure anyother parent or non-parent feels the sameway as I do, in paying a bit more.
